Review of Hancock
Hancock
Direcot: Peter Berg
Writer: Vince Ngo and Vincent Gilligan
Starring: Will Smith, Charlize Theron, Jason Bateman
This exciting, comic-book film is like no other, I first saw Hancock as a normal fast thrilling super hero movie, it is portrayed so by the trailers and I expected nothing more of it. But this film has a different side. Apart from the odd big explosion and thrilling scene (as you would expect from any big holly wood block buster) this film has one other significant thing, which many other super hero films fail to produce; a great story line.
Hancock is completely un-predictable, the hero doesn’t fight a big baddie and in the end save the day, nor does he die a terrible, tragic or heroic death. And that’s what make this film a must see, turns and surprises round every corner, this film is guaranteed to keep any viewer on the edge of the seat
Although many people would be put off by the special effects or needless explosions seen in the trailer, this film, I am glad to say, is not full of them, apart from the odd car being blown up or the computer generated whale, this movie has no real holly wood special effects, for once the money was spent on a true and just cause; Actors and Writers. This film has been tremendously written with both love and passion, the two main characters played by Will Smith (Hancock) and Charlize Theron (his wife) act beautifully, accompanied by other great actors like Jason Bateman, makes this “super hero” movie a one of a kind.
