Channel Four Opens its doors

Hundreds of young people from all over the UK were invited to meet industry professionals and learn more about the different career opportunities available at Channel 4 and in the wider media industries.

Channel 4 showed a series of films featuring stars including Graham Norton, Myleene Klass and newsreader John Snow, talking about their experiences of work in the industry and for the channel.  Then it was off "speed-dating" as groups of young people got a ten minute slot with each department of Channel 4.  Some interesting discussions took place on these tables as young people considered different careers and were given a brief opportunity to ask questions and get contact details to help further their career from advertising executives, an E4 presenter and new media consultants.  Producers and directors of shows daytime programmes and events such as T4 On the Beach were also available to answer questions and discuss project ideas.

The open day was a taster of what's to come at 4Talents' Inpiration Week during the Easter holidays.
