Rebecca Hollingshead on Work Experience 1st - 5th June 2009: Film school

For my work experience I went to Suited and Booted studios, throughout the week I was involved in a range of activities from helping out at workshops in schools to doing small jobs in the office.

For a day, I went to the year 1's at a primary school in Bristol, for a day, to teach them how to use custom animation about seasons (which was their topic). During the day the class split up into four different groups (one season per group) and then came up with stories about what happens in this certain season. We then made all the different characters and the background for the animation and used all these things to make animation about the season. After making the animation we recorded the children telling the story which we then put onto the animation.

For a couple of days I stayed in the office doing bits and bobs like filling in forms and working on the computer.

Another day I went to a secondary school in Chippenham to do a workshop.  We used the cameras to write messages on a white board, make pictures and use people to create the animation.

Overall I found my work experience really interesting and enjoyable and time went by really quickly. I learnt lots of various things e.g. how animation works and I would like to say thank you to Suited and Booted for letting me work with them.
